‘Tis the Season to Sing and Let Your Heart Be Touched

As I sit here listening to a favorite Christmas song of mine by Steven Curtis Chapman, I am finding it very difficult to put into words what I am feeling.

The song is called All I Really Want for Christmas, and it has always touched a very soft and tender spot in my heart. I honestly can’t listen to it without tearing up and feeling a hurt in my heart for the millions of children who will spend Christmas day (as well as every other day of the year) without a family to call their own.

Listen and Let Your Heart Be Moved

Please listen to this song and let your heart be touched for the approximately 143 million orphans in this world. Imagine yourself in their position. Be thankful for your family. Hug your children. And maybe…reach out and change the life of a child who doesn’t have a family to call their own.

Imagine with me for a moment, a world in which Christ had never lived…a world in which He never arose from the grave.

Imagine with me for a moment, the hopeless state that we would be living in…the fear of an unknown future.

Imagine with me for a moment, how different your life would be…how different the whole world would be!

The point is this. If Christ had not sacrificed His life for us, what meaning would our lives have? What would we have to live for? What hope would we have for the future, for our children, for our world?

Lucky for us, this is something that we never have to answer! We have a mighty Savior who did die for us and He is risen from the dead. Our hope is sure and our future is bright! We never even have to imagine what our lives would be like without Him.

But what about those who don’t know Jesus?

Imagine with me for a moment, a heart in which Christ has never lived…a soul that’s never known He arose from the grave.

Imagine with me for a moment, the hopeless state that they are living in…their fear of an unknown future.

Imagine with me for a moment, how different their life could be…how different the whole world could be!

Consider this…

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:14

Imagine with me for a moment, a life that is forever changed because you shared the love of Jesus with them!

Just imagine…
