Simple and Delicious Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Garlic

Cream cheese makes this homemade Alfredo sauce so creamy and delicious.  It goes together so quickly and easily and is so simple to make.  After you try this, you will never buy another jar of Alfredo sauce again!  Serve it over fettuccini noodles with grilled chicken or salmon, or however your family like to enjoy their Alfredo!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese
  • 4 oz. parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 – 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation:

Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat.  Add garlic and let simmer for 1 minute.

Add cream cheese and paremesan cheese, stirring with a wire whisk until smooth.

Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps.  Stir in salt and pepper.

Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency.

Thin with additional milk if needed.  Toss with hot pasta and serve.

Enjoy!

Looks sooo yummy! I’ve tried alfredo sauce with just parmesan, butter and cream before and it was good but a bit boring. The cream cheese sounds like exactly what it needs!

Just cooked this for tomorrow’s lunch! It’s yummy! Added broccoli, tomatoes and mushrooms! I’m thinking of addibg paprika to add heat!

  8. YUM! I have been looking for more Alfredo recipes. Hubby doesn’t do well with cooked tomatoes, but the white sauces are always pretty bland. So I will be trying this SOON!
BTW, I use a micro planer to grate the garlic, that way it faster and I don’t have to get my fingers all sticky!
